At this point, I don't know if the redwoods in Garrapata State Park have burned. The huge Soberanes Fire has consumed, at the time of this writing, more than 100,000 acres.
The park features some ancient redwood groves in the canyons. The park also includes Soberanes Point, where the photos in this gallery were taken.
Garrapata State Park is part of the Big Sur Coast of California, which extends along a rugged and spectacularly beautiful coastline from San Simeon in the south to Carmel-by-the-Sea to the north.
