This 1930 Ruxton was one of about 200 cars produced.
The Ruxtons were quite a sensation when introduced but they only lasted about year.
"Internal company strife and poor funding killed the Ruxton," according to The Nethercutt Collection in Sylmar, Calif., where this photo was taken.
My apologies for the quality. There are two museums at Nethercutt and in one museum, you have to make a reservation (it's free). You walk through rather quickly and lighting is not optimal.
For this photo, I was also using a consumer-grade digital prior to my purchase of a pro DSLR.
As a result, the photo is not up to my current standards, but it's offered here for comparison with other classic and vintage cars and the other 1930 Ruxton that I photographed at Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville, Calif.
Nethercutt's Ruxton won first in class and best american classic at Pebble Beach in 2006.
It was manufactured by New Era Motors of St. Louis, Mo. The coach builder was Edw. G. Budd Mfg. Co. of Philadelphia, Penn.
It sported a 268-cubic-inch L-head, inline 8-cylinder engine with a 3-inch bore and 4.75-inch stroke with 100hp.
