The New Testament's First Epistle of John, (First John and written as 1 John) is attributed to John the Evangelist, who is thought to be the author of the Gospel of John and the other two Epistles of John.
Some experts say that this Epistle was written from 95 to 110 in Ephesus. The Epistle counters docetism, which is a belief that Jesus did not come "in the flesh", but only as a spirit.
